May 26 Our Place in the Universe - Lexie Vriend and Rev. Pam Wat
Through stories, ritual and art we will create time to honor and set intentions for ourselves, our loved ones, those who have hurt us, our community and our world. In doing so we find our own place in the universe.
Jun 2 Flower Communion - Rev. Pam Wat - multigenerational
For this decades-long tradition, please bring a flower to our annual flower communion. We will each contribute a flower to our common collection and then each leave with a different flower, honoring our individuality, interdependence and the spirit of our community. There will be no religious education classes for children or youth as this service is a multigenerational service for all ages.
The basic structure of Centering Thursdays is:
First Thursday of each month: Buddhist meditation
Second and Fourth Thursday of each month: a spiritual practice of some kind (praying in color, chanting, dance, mandala drawing, labyrinth walking, yoga, lectio divina, compassionate listening, drumming, etc.) will be introduced and practiced
Third Thursday of each month: an evening worship service of some kind drawing from different styles, sources and moods
Fifth Thursday of each month: "Mindfulness Meals" will be an opportunity to practice mindful eating through a shared meal, communion practice or some other form of engagement with the food we eat.
