Did you know that all of the landscaping at DUUF is done by volunteers? It’s true!
To help our volunteers manage their time and resources as they work to make the Fellowship as welcoming on the outside as it is on the inside, we invite members to adopt a “spot” on the grounds to care for throughout the year by keeping it free of weeds and debris.
Some spots may benefit from a higher level of experience with their care, including spots within the Butterfly Garden area, and some adopters will be given priority for their “spot”. (For example, adopters who belong to other DUUF programs or groups that use the outdoor spaces for ritual will be given priority in terms of their preferred spot, if any, and members who have mobility issues will be given priority for the more accessible spots.)
To see where “spots” are located and what spots are available to adopt, please see the map below:
A few more details for participants:
- Spots may be adopted by individuals or by groups
- We ask that adopters check their spot every one to two weeks
- Along with caring for individual spots, we will also have quarterly workdays to tackle larger projects together
