Apple Tree Project

Sponsored by Interfaith Ministries of Denton, DUUF folks provide back-to-school clothes and supplies to less fortunate community members each summer.

Transgender Awareness Panel

The Transgender Awareness Panel was held in 2018 and 2019 and was sponsored by DUUF. Panelists from diverse backgrounds offered their unique and beautiful perspectives on what it means to be trans in Texas and suggested ways that the community can rise up to support equality in the face of disinformation and fear. DUUF member Amber Briggle moderated both events which were attended by more than 50 people and questions were taken from the audience. The programs were free and open to the public.

Other Social Justice Initiatives

The Social Justice Team monitors a wide range of societal issues, promotes awareness, encourages action, and provides resources on selected topics. In the fall of 2022 the team focused on promoting voting rights and making thoughtful decisions; see Be A Well-Informed Voter! for more information on being prepared to cast a vote in Denton County.
