Groups

DUUF sponsors a great many interest groups to serve our members’ need for deepening spiritual roots and expanding connections to one another.

Denton UU Vegans
DUUV is a group of vegetarian and vegan Unitarian Universalists who aim to live more compassionately in observance of the 1st and 7th UU principles. A community meal is hosted at DUUF every 3rd Friday of the month from 6-7:30 pm. The theme changes monthly. DUUV provides the main dish and everyone is welcome to bring a topping, side, or dessert to share. All are welcome. Vegan food only, please! Questions? Contact [email protected]

The Book Group - Dismantling White Supremacy Culture Starting with Me
The Book Group has been meeting on Zoom since lat Fall and studying books such as:

White Fragility: Why it’s so hard for white people to talk about racism, by Robin Diangelo.

How to be an Anti-Racist, by Ibram Kendi.

As a small group we have developed a process whre we are learning to speak freely about our own White Privelege and recognizing experiences we’ve had throughout our lives. Members have enjoyed the opportunity to grow in a small group and share with trust and honesty. In August or September of 2021, we plan to help another book group get started discussing similar issues and experiences. This will be announced here.
